Accountancy for Vegan & Plant-Based Businesses
An accountant who actually gets it

An accountant who understands you
You started your business because you believe in a kinder world. Whether you’re selling vegan products, plant-based food or cruelty-free cosmetics every decision you make is filtered through one question: does this align with my values?
Your accountant should be asking the same question.
At Green & Moore, we’re a registered vegan trader. That means our business operates without using or sourcing any animal products, from our suppliers to our banking. We don’t just understand vegan businesses. We are one.
What it’s like working with businesses that don’t understand
We’ve heard the same frustrations from vegan business owners time and again.
Your previous accountant questioned why you’d pay more for organic ingredients when cheaper options exist. They didn’t understand why you turned down a lucrative contract because the client sold leather goods. They looked at your supply chain choices as inefficiencies rather than principles.
When your accountant doesn’t share your values, every conversation becomes an explanation. You’re constantly justifying decisions that should need no justification.
That stops here.

What we handle for your vegan business
Tax returns and compliance Self-assessment for sole traders, corporation tax for limited companies, VAT returns including Making Tax Digital compliance. Filed accurately, submitted on time, no stress.
Year-end accounts Complete accounts preparation for limited companies. Clear reports that give you insight into how your business is performing, not just box-ticking for Companies House.
Bookkeeping support Quarterly check-ins to keep your records clean and current. Knowing your numbers throughout the year means better decisions and no January panic.
Tax planning Proactive advice on how to structure your business, pay yourself efficiently, and make the most of allowable expenses. More money kept in your business means more impact you can make.
Business advice Real conversations about growth, cashflow, hiring, pricing. We’ve worked with vegan businesses for years and understand the specific challenges you face in a market that’s still catching up.
Financial insight for purpose-driven decisions When you’re deciding whether to invest in compostable packaging, switch to a more expensive ethical supplier, or donate a percentage of profits to animal sanctuaries, your numbers need to support those choices. We help you see what’s financially possible while staying true to your mission.
Our vegan commitment
Green & Moore is a registered vegan trader with the Vegan Society. That registration isn’t a marketing badge. It’s a commitment to operating our business without using or sourcing animal products at any level.
We use an ethical bank with sustainable practices and zero investment in fossil fuels or animal agriculture. Our equipment is refurbished and recycled at end of life. Our hosting is green. Our meetings are online. Every supplier we work with is vetted for alignment with our values.
We give 2% of our profits to Surfers Against Sewage, Rewilding Britain and Greenpeace because environmental protection and animal welfare are inseparable.
When you work with us, you’re not explaining your choices. We already made the same ones.
Your questions answered
Do I have to run a vegan business to work with you? Your business doesn’t need to be certified vegan, but we do ask that you’re not trading in or sourcing products that come from animals. That includes meat, dairy, leather, wool, honey and similar. If you’re not sure whether your business fits, book a call and we’ll talk it through honestly.
What if I’m vegan but my business isn’t explicitly plant-based? That’s fine. We work with plenty of business owners who live vegan and want their accountant to reflect those values, even if their business is in tech, consultancy, or another non-food sector.
Do you understand the extra costs of running a vegan business? Completely. We know organic certification costs money. Vegan ingredients cost more. Cruelty-free suppliers are harder to find. Compostable packaging eats into margins. We build our advice around those realities, not some generic business model.
How much does it cost? We price based on your specific needs. Sole trader with straightforward income? Different pricing to a limited company with VAT and payroll. Book a discovery call and we’ll put together a transparent quote with no hidden extras.
